Campus

Life on the campus of the University of Twente is unique. The University of Twente is the only real campus university in the Netherlands. Thousands of students, tutors and guests gather here daily. When you are studying and living on campus you don’t spend all of your time engrossed in your text books or on the computer. You also get to enjoy

living in rooms in a beautiful forested environment. And in addition to the fantastic surroundings there are also all kinds of facilities on the campus. These include sports facilities, a cultural centre, cafés, bars, restaurants,

a supermarket, a bookshop, a hairdresser, an employment agency and an open-air swimming pool. The campus regularly serves as the setting for large entertainment events such as pop concerts and sporting events and is home to approximately one hundred different clubs and associations that enrich the lives of the students. Living on campus means living on your own terms approximately four kilometres from the lively centre of Enschede.

University

The University of Twente is an enterprising research university. It is also the only campus university in the

Netherlands. The University conducts research and offers courses on scientific subjects that range from

psychology and business administration to technical physics and biomedical technology.

Enschede

Enschede is the eleventh largest city in the Netherlands. Situated in the east of the Netherlands, the city has

more than 150,000 inhabitants. Enschede has a lively café culture that is concentrated around the Oude Markt

in the city centre. In the centre of Enschede there are a wide range of shops, bars restaurants and culture.
